Tatiana Sukhanova, known artistically as *Tianova*, is a contemporary artist originally from Kazakhstan. Her creative journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, followed by a Master of Fine Arts, which shaped her distinct artistic vision. In 1999, she moved to New York, where she thrived in the fashion industry while nurturing her passion for painting.  

In 2023, Tianova relocated to Savannah, Georgia, dedicating herself fully to life as a full-time artist and gallery owner. Her work is a captivating fusion of Cubism and Impressionism, reflecting her deep appreciation for both styles. Inspired by music and movement, she uses bold geometric shapes and expressive colors to convey rhythm and emotion. Each painting transcends mere representation, capturing the essence of the music itself. Through her synesthetic perception, she experiences music as both sound and sight, translating melodies into vibrant, flowing lines and rhythmic compositions on the canvas. Her signature vertical line technique embodies this vision, with every stroke resonating like a musical note, echoing the dynamic interplay of sound and motion.  

Tianova’s cityscapes and figurative works transport viewers to a realm that exists between realism and dreamlike magic. Her textured compositions invite personal reflection, offering space for introspection through forms that suggest rather than define. Blank areas and soft edges encourage viewers to infuse the work with their own stories, creating a deeply personal dialogue with the art.  

Working primarily with palette knives and oil paints, Tianova creates richly layered textures that bring her cityscapes and musical themes to life. Subtle touches of metal leaf add an ethereal luminosity, imbuing her work with a timeless and atmospheric quality. Her distinctive style, blending spatial realism with interpretative freedom, draws viewers into moments suspended in time, evoking nostalgia, peace, and wonder.
